Welcome
Holiday Hideaway is a small community tucked into the trees of Southeast Guemes Island. With a welcoming sense of community and continuing connection with nature, it has become an oasis for many away from a hectic city life. It includes a blend of year-round and seasonal residents.

Work Party - Sat., May 2nd (cancelled), Saturday, May 23rd at 10:00am at Long Bay. Bring gloves.
Firewise Activity: Dog Island Trucking will be removing hazardous and technically challenging trees at Long Bay between March 16 and April 6. There will be times during that interval when the walking path will be blocked off to foot traffic for safety reasons. A Volunteer work party will take place on Sat., May 2 at 10am, to stack downed branches for chipping at Long Bay and to remove invasive species. The chipper will be on the island over the weekend of May 23rd & 24th when we will need more volunteers to assist with processing the stacks. Remember to stack piles from your properties at the roadway with the stems facing the same direction to make it easy to feed into the chipper. Cynthia Heft, our Association Firewise coordinator can be contacted with questions at: (360) 305-1293.
Boat ID tags: The Coast Guard has furnished the Association with Vessel ID Stickers for small craft. We ask that all those who store boats at Cooks Cove and Long Bay affix Vessel ID Stickers on both the inside and outside of their craft. Not only is this good practice, it will be helpful when it is time to remove boats in the fall for the stormy season. ID Stickers will be available at the Annual Meeting or call Peter Castle at (206) 605-2660.
Common Properties
Holiday Hideaway offers access to three community beaches:
Long Bay, east facing, is a wonderful cove accessed by a wooded trail.
Cook’s Cove, south facing, is accessible by vehicle and includes a small boat ramp. Small boats may be stored on site at Cooks Cove from April 15th through October 15th
Deadman’s Cove, also south facing, the smallest of the three, is accessed by a short trail.
Holiday Hideaway Water
The Association’s water supply is provided for with a set of five wells and a series of pumps and tanks. Guemes Island, being a sole source aquifer, necessitates all to be prudent with the amount of residential water usage.
